Description

General info:

Species name:
Munchlax

Species #: 446

Gender ratio: 87% male / 12% female

Species type: Normal

Status: Non-threatened species but rarely seen

Different breeds / Subspecies possible?: 4 different breeds

Appearance:

Munchlax are medium sized, bipedal mammalian Pokemon standing at about 28 inches high
and weighing as much as 100-200lbs. Their teeth and claws are blunt and Its fur is primarily a greenish-blue color
with some darker shades of color in certain areas like cheeks, ears and eyes as well as some areas covered with
a light cream or tan colored fur such as around the hands, feet, inner ear, chin and overall lower jaw and neck.

The fur on the lower parts of their bodies is long and serves the purpose of a storage
to keep extra food on them at all times.

Biology:

Though not as big of an eater as its evolutionary form, that doesn't mean this little
creature can't still eat you out of house and home! Munchlax are critters with big appetites,
capable of eating nearly their own body weight in food each day!

They are gentle creatures, preferring to sit down and eat snacks than battle,
in fact, most will disobey the orders of a commanding trainer during a fight and are more likely
to run off to avoid injury and find food instead.

Though they prefer to not fight, that doesn't necessarily make them pushovers!
they aren't nearly as strong as Snorlax, but a Chip Away or Body Slam attack from an angry
or scared Munchlax can still do some terrible damage to most opponents and send them flying.

Munchlax shed a lot and also may have a tendency to smell like rotten fruit or meat,
and this is simply because they may completely forget food that they have stored in their fur.

Because of this, they need to be groomed quite often.

Diet:

Whatever it can get it's paws on.
including usually non-edible objects such as rocks and pinecones.
keep a close eye on them at all times or they might just eat your wallet or your husband.

Lifespan:

As mentioned before, Munchlax is Snorlax's baby stage, it is practically a toddler.

It is rarely seen in the wild (Thanks to special Snorlax breeding requirements) but those that
have been found in the wild are capable of living alone without a Snorlax parent, hunting and scavenging just fine
by themselves. They do have to worry about predators, especially Luxray, Purugly, Gliscor and Houndoom.

Other than that, a healthy Munchlax will evolve and can live up to 100 years of age.

Mating Habits:

Munchlax are the base or 'Child' forms of Snorlax,
and they are unable to breed until they evolve into their final evolutionary stage
and reach puberty.

Though like a lot of mammal Pokemon (Especially those in the Canine, Ursine and Mustelid families),
it might develop a humping problem. though not for sexual reasons, a Munchlax may hump due to confusion,
communication purposes or because it just wants attention or that it wants to play.

Be sure to train them to not do this.

Health:

A chubby Munchlax is a healthy Munchlax.
these Pokemon are relatively healthy most of the time, especially if they are well fed.
any Munchlax under the average weight of 100 lbs or less is considered underweight.

Their immune systems seem to weaken at this point, making them even more susceptible to
viruses and disease.

Though bigger is better for this Pokemon, it doesn't always mean 'healthier', unfortunately as they are
prone to getting Bloat if they eat their food too quickly and swallow too much air.

Also because of their voracious appetites, they may ingest poisonous materials such as Antifreeze or
household cleaning solutions, not knowing what it is. And unlike Snorlax that can have the Immunity ability,
Munchlax does NOT normally have this ability and can very well die from poisoning.

Temperament and Human Interaction:

A lot of patience is needed for this Pokemon, as even though they
aren't very violent, they definitely are stubborn. They have a habit of being somewhat headstrong
and will often disobey orders from their trainers.

Only the most patient of people can handle this little beast.
And for those that have done so successfully claim that the Pokemon actually make a
decent companion, but only if you aren't bothered with constant grooming and have money to spend
on feeding it.

Like Snorlax, this Pokemon doesn't do very well around small children and babies as they can get pretty
rough and hyperactive when playing and may accidentally injure the child (Or may very well confuse them for food,
C'mon bruh, you know they will).

Only get this Pokemon if you have a lot of time to spend with it,
as well as a lot of money to spend on it.
