Alright, silly blurbs set aside, everyone knows about the Great Floods caused by everybody's favorite dumbass pirate crew, Team Aqua.
but did you know that the Great Floods also had another name?

Survivors like to call it; "The day the Sharpedos fed well."

Yep, that's right, 27 years ago the strange, rag-tag group known as Team Aqua led by the absolutely insane Archibald Meyers, or as by his preferred name, Archie was at first thought of as some random group of punks causing a ruckus throughout the Hoenn region.
with things like loitering, making crude graffiti on public property, having illegal Poochyena and Zangoose fights in the middle of the streets, and making threats at school children for their lunch money, many considered them to be more of a nuisance than an actual threat.

Though that all changed when the head of Devon Corps. Mr. Stone and his son, Steven Stone both noticed something very peculiar one day...
Team Aqua wasn't up to their usual mischievous behavior, in fact they were almost no where to be found. for once the streets were quiet and free of their normally rambunctious and disrespectful attitudes...they hated to have to say it, but it just wasn't normal.

It was about a month or two later that they found out that Team Aqua's leader, Archie, was planning something quite unexpected.
for a long time, Archie was always spewing some crap about 'Expanding the seas for the good of all Pokemon', but no one ever took him seriously. he was just some crazy nut saying shit that was never gonna happen in a million years...but boy, oh, boy was everyone WRONG.

This asshole and his team of bigger assholes managed to locate and awaken an ancient Pokemon that no one had seen for centuries, Kyogre (or Odenia). He tried to control the legendary Pokemon, but she was having none of it. her near thousand year slumber had been rudely interrupted by this dick-of-pirate and she was hellbent on making him and everyone else pay for it. causing an extremely large storm that seemed to flood most of Hoenn. many humans (1,200) and Pokemon (3,000+) were killed in the flood...

although devastating, it really does get worse. Unfortunately for everyone, this tragic storm and flood happened around the time of the annual Sharpedo Migration. So of course, countless schools of wild Sharpedo benefited from the disaster by gobbling up the bodies of any man, woman, child or Pokemon that drifted in the waters. Many of these Sharpedo were later hunted down and slaughtered both in efforts to try and recover any human remains and also to protect other people (once they've eaten human flesh, they'll no longer see people as trainers/masters but just as another food source).

It was thanks to one young girl (Mae Parkes) and her Pokemon for saving the Hoenn region by putting an end to Kyogre's rampage by defeating her in a battle and forcing her back into her eternal slumber. Not too long after, Archie was found and captured and Team Aqua was disbanded.

After being held in prison for a year, Archie was later put to death by the electric chair.
